We encourage all interested players or community members to undertake their referee training.  Our Association depends on the availability of referees to officiate our games, and without people willing to obtain the relevant accreditation, we are unable to offer a competition going forward.

Our junior referee program accepts expressions of interest from children from 12 years of age updwards.

Refereeing can be a fun and rewarding experience, and also provides the opportunity to earn a little cash whilst learning and putting their training into practice.

Our newest referees are mentored and supervised by older, more experienced referees to assist them to grow and develop their confidence over the season.  In our experience, learning to referee is a rewarding journey which teaches our junior members about responsibility, setting up and packing away after each game and it also helps them to understand the complex nature of refereeing.

If you would like more information on referee training and education, please visit the Basketball WA website.  https://basketballwa.asn.au/officials-education/

If you child is interested in becoming a junior referee, please contact us for more information prior to the season commencement.
